Interior painting
Rooms painted in the colors you chose
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, one room at a time, from the color plan we wrote with you.
We cover and move the furniture, patch and sand, prime the spots that need it, and cut in with a brush before we roll. At the end of each day the room is swept and the tape is up only where the next coat needs it.

Prep
The prep that makes the color look right

Holes and cracks get filled
Filled, sanded smooth and spot-primed so they don't show through the new color.

Edges get taped
Trim, windows and ceilings are taped so the line where two colors meet is straight.

Floors get covered
Drop cloths and paper under every wall we touch, and plastic over what stays in the room.

Doors and furniture are protected
Doors we aren't painting are wrapped, and furniture is moved to the center and covered.
Sheens
Sheen, in plain words
The sheen is written next to each room's color in your color plan.
Flat
No shine. Hides wall flaws. Best kept for ceilings and low-traffic walls.
Matte and eggshell
A soft glow that wipes clean with care. Most living rooms and bedrooms.
Satin
A gentle sheen that handles fingerprints. Hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms.
Semi-gloss
Hard, easy to wipe. Trim, doors and bathrooms.
Interior questions
How many coats, and what sheen?
Walls usually get primer where needed and two coats. Ceilings are flat, walls matte or eggshell, trim and doors satin or semi-gloss. Each room's sheen is written in your color plan.
Who buys the paint, and which brand?
We buy it. The estimate names the paint line and sheen for each room, and we give you the product data sheet for any of them on request.
Do I move the furniture, and can I stay home?
We move and cover furniture, and we cover floors and plants. Most people stay home. Tell us about pets, a baby's nap or a work-from-home day when you book, and we plan the rooms around them.
How do you protect floors, plants and furniture?
Floors get drop cloths or paper, furniture is moved to the room's center and covered, and plants outside are covered or moved before we wash or paint. We vacuum and wipe down at the end of each day.
What about paint smell, children and pets?
Ask us for the product data sheet for any paint on your estimate. It gives the maker's ventilation and re-entry guidance, and we plan the rooms and windows around it.
